4/10 - Group photo challenge
We
all have big gatherings - outings, parties, get-togethers with family
and friends. But we don't always take big pictures there because it's
corny or hard to corral everyone together at the same time. And when
we do, it's sometimes tough to figure out a way to scrap them. How do
you highlight each individual while paying respect to what the group
means to you, too? In the PGD gallery since February 1st, there have
been over 400 LOs posted, but only 8 had photos of 4 or more people in
them. Yet, we're all part of big groups - co-workers, playgroups,
classes, clubs, old friends, church groups, and of course families.
Where are those photos, and why aren't they getting scrapped?
So
my challenge is to spend some time looking for (or taking!) a group
picture with 4 or more people in it and find a way to really show off
your group's personality. All four people have to be in the same
photo, but there may be more than one photo on the page. Animals/pets
do not count toward the 4, but people in animal suits (like Mickey
Mouse) do. People in the background (not facing the camera, not
obviously the target of the photo) don't count, but it doesn't have to
be a posed snapshot.
Once you have that photo, put it in a
layout! Are you going to extract the people out, keep it centered with
a fancy frame, blend it into the background, or blow the photo up big?
Label each person with their real name, their goofy nickname, or simply
a sincere descriptive adjective? Will you embellish the page with
items that symbolize how you know these people, decorate it for
where/when it was taken, or just add a touching quote/comment that
expresses how you feel? What else can you do to show off your group
photo?
